The HPE Edgeline EL8000 Converged Edge System is a unique general-purpose compute platform, designed to provide the highest compute power in harsh conditions of edge locations. With a condensed ruggedized form factor, it withstands heat, shock, and vibration and supports continuous operation between 0°C to 55°C. It has a flexible and modular architecture to scale and delivers data center compute capacities directly to where data is created.
This platform was specifically developed to address the unique challenges associated with massively distributed edge deployments with these key features:
Compact and ruggedized design for harsh locations:
The HPE Edgeline EL8000 Converged Edge System has a unique 17”x 8.7” form factor that fits into space-constrained applications too small for other x86 systems. The system exceeds the requirements of industry standards NEBS and ASHRAE classes 3 and 4.
High performance:
Based on high-end Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors. System components can be combined, scaled and hot-swapped to meet changing demands, supporting, among others, NVIDIA® Tesla® GPUs, FPGAs from Intel and Xilinx, NICs from Intel or Mellanox.
Modular blade and chassis options for use-case flexibility:
The HPE Edgeline EL8000 Converged Edge system offers flexibility of choice for compute density or for I/O expansion. The system's flexible and modular architecture can scale to meet changing requirements.
One-click provisioning and remote systems management:
HPE’s iLO 5 technology and the newly developed chassis manager software enable remote provisioning, ongoing system health monitoring, updates, and management of HPE Edgeline EL8000 Converged Edge Systems across thousands of cell sites, from cell towers to oil rigs, without needing IT expertise on-site.
